Primary 2–3 February Newsletter

Office News
Beginning in February, Miss Kylie will be stepping into a new professional opportunity and will no longer be serving as our building secretary. We are incredibly grateful for the impact she has had on our school and are excited for her in this next chapter.

We are also pleased to share that Hayley Green has been hired as our new building secretary. We look forward to welcoming her to our team and are excited for this transition.

Mr. Stevenson
We have officially completed our winter i-Ready benchmark assessments, and we are excited to share that our students have demonstrated strong growth since the fall! It is encouraging to see the progress being made across grade levels because of focused instruction, targeted interventions, and the hard work of our students and teachers.

Our team is currently analyzing the data to make thoughtful adjustments to instruction, intervention groups, and enrichment opportunities to ensure continued growth throughout the spring. We are proud of our students’ effort and look forward to building on this momentum in the months ahead.

2nd Grade ELA
We are developing reading, writing, and research skills by researching topics, organizing information, and writing clear informative texts while building vocabulary.

3rd Grade Math
We will explore how fractions represent a part of a whole, how to identify equivalent fractions, and practice comparing fractions using visual models and number sense.

CARE Club
We are focusing on empathy—understanding and connecting to other people’s feelings. Students and staff are encouraged to spread kindness in small, meaningful ways. We will also participate in Random Acts of Kindness Week (February 14–20)!
